DOUBLE LIFE

INTRO

During the National Day holiday in 2025, DOUBLE LIFE opened as an in-person photography exhibition in Guangzhou. Three months of preparation brought together more than 800 submissions from 30 schools. Fifty volunteers helped install the exhibition, and more than 1,200 people came to see it.

Two cities, two perspectives. Young photographers wandered the streets and alleys of Guangzhou and Shenzhen, using their lenses to capture the cities’ rhythms and faces—and the moments when their paths crossed in light and shadow.

Beyond the exhibition, we gained more than photographs. Some found renewed conviction in their aspirations to work in media. Others tried their hand at building an exhibition for the first time, stepping outside their comfort zones. Some unexpectedly reunited with old friends they had lost touch with. Connection begins the moment the shutter is pressed.
