As we search anew through the lens, a marble becomes a planet.
As we search anew through perception, a planet becomes a pearl.
Let us rediscover the world with a child’s curiosity,
breaking through the ordinary to uncover the sacred within.
Weber used the term “disenchantment” to describe the fading of meaning and mystery in the modern world.
“Re-enchantment” offers another possibility:
to rediscover what we already know, rather than return to the unknown.
As everyday routines repeat, our sense of meaning and curiosity can begin to fade.
Yet when we look again through photography,
each time we observe through a viewfinder, capture through a lens, or linger over an image on a screen,
the world renews its invitation to wonder.
We hope to uncover ways of seeing that everyday life has led us to overlook, and the surprises that await when we look back.
